One of the most sobering thoughts about life is that one day it will end. There is also the fear of the unknown. Is there life after death? What will eternity be like? The Bible answers these questions. Hebrews 9:27 promises, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”  In another verse of Scripture, King Hezekiah was told he would face death. I Kings 20:1 states, “In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, thus saith the Lord, set thine house into order; for thou shalt die, and not live.”

These two verses speak not only of death, but the need to be prepared to die because judgment awaits on the other side. Everyone has sinned in some way, and fallen short of the glory of God. The Bible says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). One day, we will give an account for our sins.

Amid all of the questions about life and death, there is good news to be proclaimed. God loves you, and Jesus Christ died for you. Romans 6:23 says,“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” John 3:16-18 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

Are you prepared to die? If not, God has made a way through Jesus Christ so you can be prepared.

First, CONSIDER:

Are you truly ready to meet the Lord?  So many times we get our eyes off ourselves and on the people around us, but we will each stand before God alone, the God who put your sins on His Son and put His Son on the cross for your sins.  Would you stand before Him in hopes of being forgiven and reject Jesus Christ?

Then, CONFESS:

Romans 10:9 promises, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. “ If you know you are not prepared, then confess your need for Jesus Christ. Believe what God has done for you through His Son.

Now, CALL:

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). We invite you to call upon the name of the Lord. Today is the day of salvation. Now is the accepted time to inherit eternal life.
